MacKenzie McClain: Paving The Way For The Next Generation And Her Mission with LumiBloom By Alexandra Bonnet

A CBD-powered beauty and wellness brand, LumiBloom offers an array of CBD-infused products with their own unique healing properties. Each product serves a different purpose which includes releasing stress and anxiety, bettering your sleep cycle, anti-aging properties, pain management and focus. When visiting the website, you will find bath bombs, hair care, hand sanitizer and more.

“LumiBloom was born out of my journey as an elite athlete, where wellness, recovery, and confidence were non-negotiable,” shared founder of LumiBloom, MacKenzie McClain. “I wanted to create something that supported women the way I needed support—products that were functional, beautiful, and empowering.” A brand that stems from an individual’s personal journey is surely a brand that stands out. As a former athlete, MacKenzie understands what it takes to push your body to the limit – and knows when to take care of it. This is where LumiSport came to light and was born for athletes, fitness enthusiasts and those with active lifestyles. The brand offers your must-have products to keep your body relaxed and moving. Some of these products include Pain Relief Freeze Gel, CBD Pain Relieving Spray, Muscle Soothe Stick, and more.

For MacKenzie, LumiBloom is more than its products: it is a family legacy and a platform on which others can build.  “Even though I started LumiBloom before becoming a mother, the values that shaped me—resilience, discipline, self-worth, and care—have always been part of the brand,” she shared. “Family, legacy, and wellness were always on my heart. And now, as a mother, those values have deepened. LumiBloom reflects that full-circle commitment: to show up for yourself, to lead with intention, and to feel good while doing it.” We dove a bit more into the themes of purpose, mission, and overcoming limiting beliefs and I was left speechless and fulfilled after hearing MacKenzie’s words. On the topic of purpose, she explained that to her, “purpose is alignment” and her purpose in life is to “empower women, especially Black women, to live boldly, unapologetically, and beautifully.” Whether it be through LumiBloom, her digital strategy work, or how she shows up as a mother, entrepreneur, and community advocate, she always leads with authenticity and creates a space for others. A trailblazer, MacKenzie paves the way for the next generations to come by showing them what is possible, especially young people who have been historically overlooked or underestimated. “I believe representation is power, but mentorship is transformation,” she expressed. “We have to normalize success in every room, teach ownership over talent, and break the cycle of shrinking ourselves to fit outdated standards.”

When I asked her to share some tips for future entrepreneurs, her answers did not disappoint!

Step one: Start before you’re ready. Clarity comes through action. Step two: Don’t wait for permission. You don’t need anyone to co-sign your calling. Step three: Stay connected to your “why.” That’s what will carry you when things get hard. Step four: Invest in your mindset. Strategy matters, but belief is what makes it work. Step five: Build community. Your network and your inner circle will elevate or drain you—choose wisely.

If you are feeling doubtful or your limiting beliefs take the wheel for a little too long, remember that “your gifts aren’t just for performance—they’re tools for building, leading, and creating impact. It’s about moving from being chosen to choosing yourself,” she so beautifully put. “We’re not here to ask for a seat anymore—we’re here to build the table.” I do not know about some of your reading this, but I weave in and out of clarity and confusion, doubt and certainty, fear and courage, and MacKenzie’s words throughout this interview have filled my heart with glimmers of hope. She reminds us that you don’t have to have it all figured out– “but you do have to trust yourself.” That it is important to be open and stay curious, to protect your peace, own your voice, and lead with intention. There is such beauty in your differences.

Moving forward and continuously evolving are key to creating change and growth in a world that never stops moving. It is individuals like MacKenzie who emit light, grace, and encouragement– something we all need to be reminded of at times. Her final quote was the perfect ending to an amazing interview and I hope it leaves you fulfilled as much as it did me.

“You are allowed to take up space. You are allowed to be bold, brilliant, and still evolving. I hope my journey reminds someone that it’s possible to build the life you want—on your own terms—and still be soft, strong, and centered. Be the CEO of your life, because no one else can lead it like you.”
